Are dementia/alzheimer's genetically passed on ?
If both of my Grandma's parents had alzheimer's disease, does that mean she will get it too?
Both of her parents had it...does that mean she will get it when she is in her 80s or 90s? She is 79 now and is in pretty good health. She sometimes misplaces her keys and glasses but she has done that since she was young.
What was the date alzheimer's disease was discovered?

Is dementia caused by alzheimer is classified as a psychiatric disorder?
My grandpa has alzheimer's, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer....should we tell him?
It may have spread to his lungs a bit. My family feels it's best that he not be told, but I'm not convinced. The concern is he may enter a terrible state of depression. After talking to my doctor, I feel that we're not making the best choice for him, even though he's all we though about with the decision was made.I haven't seen studies either way....whether in fact the depression happens with most people. Would love to hear of your own decisions and how it impacted the person. Thanks so much
Will having had a concussion increase ones chances for alzheimer's?
What are some ways to engage someone with Alzheimer's?
My uncle has alzheimers and I am one of his caregivers. He is age 60 really bored, he is in the moderate stage of alzheimers. What are some activites at home that he would be able to do and that people with this disease take part in.He enjoys walking outside, going into town and watching tv, but I am looking to expand his activites while at home.
