Trouble putting on contact lenses?

Question: Trouble putting on contact lenses?

(Posted by: Fant0m on 2010-07-29 20:21:41)

Today I went to the eye doctor for a contacts exam and he gave me one to practice with putting on. I couldn't do it even after holding my upper and lower eyelid open! However, when I try putting on the lens on my right side, my left eye tends to close and my eye dries out before I get it in. After an hour and with lots of struggle, I finally got one lens on. How can I expect to wear contacts when I can barely get one in? It seems as if my reflexes are too strong... Any advice? Thanks.

Pretty much, just relax. The same thing happened when I first got contacts. It took me a LONG time to get them in. But all you have got to do is relax, I've been wearing them for almost a year now, and I can put them in and take them out pretty fast. Sometimes I mess up though, or it takes me a while to put them in. GOOD LUCK. (:

When I first wore contacts, I had trouble. I found it easier to insert them by looking into the mirror. After a few times, it gets easier....really! If you can use hard contacts, rather than soft, they will be easier to insert.
