Any books on dentistry?
This is a silly question . but does anyone know a book that explains the basics of dentistry, because I am set on becoming a dentist and I would like to try and do my best to just look in to it to know more about it so I won't go in half cocked. I'm 14 I know it's a little early in life but I am very set on doing this, any books at all don't mind if there pop up books lol.uhhh....ok to be honest the first answer just kind a creeped me out...and don't worry if I kill myself I'll come and vist you when I'm a ghost and I'll do things to creep u out...be afraid... be very afraid 0 o. lol jk thank's for that fact lol but I'm set on it, don't know what to go in tho, privite or NHS. x

Old news but we saw a thing on the news that showed a dentist place that would give kids unnecessary root canals and stuff like that, the people would hold the kids down,while they would scream for help, even if the kids pissed themselves it was crazy, by the way this was in my hometown that this happened but these people are fucked up and its all for money, damned crazy people just wanted ur opinionsMan,that must have been awful for you,I'm sorry,theyre holes I heard about a 5 year old that had to get almost all of his teeth crowned.No this happened in Colorado but I've heard stories of it happening to people in different places.
What subjects to choose for dentistry?
I need 12 units of study, and currently I've chosen 3u maths, 3u english and 2 economics. To hopefully be able to qualify for a dentistry course in the future, should I choose physics I find most difficult biology we have bad teachers and most of the work is memorising, which I'm terrible at or chemistry I haven't done well in chem in the past . I can choose 2 sciences, or choose 1 science and 1 other subject ...

How difficult is dentistry?
I'm in the top 4 % of my class, and I consider myself an average to slightly above average. I'm in my last year of high school and am trying to make a decision about what to major in. The problem with dentistry is that I have to complete a few predental courses before getting accepted into the program. It consists mainly of chemistry inorganic, organic, and general and I've taken only one chemistry class throughout high school. I didn't do poorly in it, but it wasn't my best subject. I got Bs first semester and A minuses second. Is it possible for me to pursue and succeed in a career of dentistry? I have no concept of how difficult it will be and am scared to take chances.I've heard that dentistry is as hard as medical. This causes me to worry that I may not be able to succeed or get accepted into the program. I know having confidence is important, but I do not want to waste three years and not get accepted. I do not have much money to make a mistake like this

What is the most difficult procedure in dentistry?
Just curious what the professionals have to say. If you really want to know why I ask I had a bone graph, implant and crown to replace tooth 8, when all was said and done 2.5yrs of work they told me this was the most difficult procedure in dentistry to match and replace a front tooth. It was no walk in the park I wanted some answers on what others believe is the most difficult procedure in dentistry just out of curiosity.My front tooth looks amasing No one can tell it is not real. I am super thrilled and have respect for the great work oral surgeons and dentists perform.
Did anyone else undergo dentistry without local anaesthesia back in the 50's & 60's ?
When I was a child I used to get sent to the " School Dentist" . I was the only child in the school whose parents sent them there it was free . This woman used to do everything without any local whatsoever on one occasion I had four fillings at a single session without any local. Every time I went I had to have fillings and yet as an adult I've very rarely needed them. In fact most of the dental work I required as an adult was sorting out her previous work I am trying to get my head straight around a number of issues that originate from my childhood and it would be helpful to know if this was normal dental practice back then or whether it was unusual even in those far gone days Thanks

Hi, I want to attend Griffith University in Gold Coast Australia but I am abit confused on the entry requirements.I am going to do the UMAT exam soon and my OP score isn't the best as it could be 3 6 Is that enough to get into dentistry???If not is there another path that I could take to get into Dentistry??
