Can I perform a Diabetes Test using a Glucose meter?
I recently ordered a free Glucose meter in order to perform a Diabetes test in the comfort of my home. But now I have doubts whether this test can be accurately performed with a Glucose meter device.However, if it is indeed possible, how would this test be properly carried out ?I dont know if I got this right,but, after waiting 2 hours I then drink something like a glass of orange juice and test myself a second time ?
Diabetes test strips and needles are SO expensive.?
My husband has diabetes and we are only on one income thanks to the enconomy. I am wondering if there is a program or a way to get a discount on the test strips and needles that are needed to check your blood sugar. When he was diagnosed, he was given a Accu Chek Aviva machine but we still have to buy the other stuff. He said his mom used to have her diabetes stuff delivered to her door, but she was older and had medicare. The strips alone cost $55 for 50 Are there any tricks that i dont know about to help lower the cost?

Diabetes test, accidentally had a cracker/bisquit?
Hi, I'm having a test for diabetes. I was supposed to fast for 12 hours and then just have my blood drawn. I started fasting at 10 pm but accidentally ate an Indian cracker hard biscuit thing at 5 30 am. My appointment is at 9 45. Do you think this will be okay or will it mess up my readings? Thanks
Can not eating for 4 days affect a diabetes test?
My mother went into the hospital 4 days ago for surgery. They have not allowed her to eat since that day which was thursday 4 29 10. They did a blood draw to check for diabetes still before she has had anything to eat in the 4 days and told her that she has diabetes...can a test for Diabetes be accurate after not eating for 4 days...all she has had is ice chips.

i went to the doctors because i was drinking water a lot and going to the toilet a lot, so he tested me for diabetes and kidney problems. it came back negative, and thats all he said. what else could be the problem?
Diabetes test at the pharmacy?
I want to know if i have diabetes but before i go to the doctor i want to check my insulin level. I read in a previous post that you can go to the pharmacy and get tested there. Is that true? If not is there anywhere else i can go other than the doctor??

Ok I went to the Dr. today I did the 1 hour gestational diabetes test today and I fail it horribly. So I go back next Wed. for the three hour test but I think am going to fail that one too. So what happens after that if I do fail the test.
Diabetes Testing and Diagnosis?
My blood sugar was tested a few months back. about January February I had the symptoms of diabetes so my doctor did a simple random glucose test and it came back normal. I am still convinced that I may be diabetic. I have many of the symptoms like constant thirst, hunger, fatigue, frequent urination, bruising easily. Is it possible that it just didn't show up that time. My doctor did no further tests after the random glucose test. Any advice input would be appreciated.a little background on myself 19yr old female, slightly overweight.
