Do women get hemorrhoids too?
I am just curious if its only a guy thing to get hemorrhoids.

Could this be pregnancy-induced hemorrhoids?
Hi everyone,I'm 40 weeks pregnant I've been very blessed to have a symptom free pregnancy up until now... However 2 days before my estimated due date EDD I woke up in the morning and my rectal area was extremely itchy and painful feeling... I've never felt anything like this ever before and quite frankly I'm worried about it I don't know how to describe this without being very straight forward so pardon me if my language offends anyone Basically the area itches, burns, and hurts. I looked at it in the mirror as best as I could anyway And it looks like an inflamed " butthole wrikle" or possibly a swollen vein. It's only on one side and a very small area thank God I just always thought that hemorrhoids were a big external " pocket" which is why I'm wondering if this could be a small hemorrhoid from the baby having dropped into the birth canal?? If it makes a difference I've been dilated to 2 cm. for 2 weeks now with 70 80 % effacement I'm wondering if a vaginal child birth will aggravate this problem further? I'm also wondering if this will completely resolve on it's own following the birth, or will I need to see a doctor about it and my question is who do I see about it? Also, what remedies can I use in the meantime?

Why are people embarrassed about hemorrhoids?

Should I be concerned about internal hemorrhoids?
I think I have an internal hemorrhoid. 2 months ago, I started seeing small traces of blood on the TP when I wiped. I thought it was just dry and irritated from wiping with the dry paper, so I started using moist baby wipes. It's been nicer with the baby wipes feel cleaner , but I still see traces of blood on TP and wipes. I recently had a scare where I saw A LOT of of bright red blood in the toilet, and on the tissue. I didn't feel pain, and I wasn't leaking blood or anything serious. I waited it out, and next session was fine....no traces of blood whatsoever. Still concerned, so I started doing research, and internal hemorrhoids seems to fit the bill no external hemorrhoids . I started taking a lot of Benefiber and drinking lots of fluids, and ever since I haven't had a horrific bloody episode, but I still find traces of blood here and there when wiping, nothing serious. I also haven't had any abdominal or rectal pain.....at all My question is....If I maintain a high fiber diet, consume lots of water, not strain and not have long sessions on the toilet should I be concerned that internal hemorrhoids will get any worse? Will they ever go away on their own? If your answer is " go see a doctor" , then don't bother answering my question I have a high deductible insurance policy, so I like to save the visits for more serious things, and from my research, it sounds like internal hemorrhoids aren't serious, especially with my mild symptoms. Like I said, I've improved my diet and habits, and it's been good. I'm just concerned about the long run.I'd like to point out that within the last 4 years, I've had about 5 moments of proctalgia fugax....a middle of the night anal charlie horse.

Is it possible that I may have hemorrhoids later in life?
This is a serious question so serious answers please. About a year ago when I went to the toilet, when I was wiping my bottom, I noticed that there was bumps in my anal sphincter. I wanted to be able to visibly see this, but since it is in an area that vision can't reach, I used a mirror. There was blue to purple bumps all around where my sphincter muscle is, being a year on it remains unchanged, I don't have any pain nor bleeding unless I have wiped too hard or used rough toilet paper. There should be skin there, not bumps right.I am reluctant to go to the doctor being such a sensitive issue, but I would go if this was considered serious. Thanks, answers that are serious would really help me make my decision about making an appointment with my GP

How to cure hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids??? Please Help?
For the past 3 days or so, my mom has been having a lot of blood in her stool and the doctor thinks it is hemorrhoids and says " Don't worry" . She is really nervous and has been having bad dreams. Will she be ok? Will she live? She says a lot of blood comes out...What can she do to cure herself? What should she eat for example?

Could this actually be a tumor/polyp instead of a hemorrhoid?
I thought I had hemorrhoids because my butt was itching haha and there was a teeny tiny amount of blood on the toilet paper. I also felt a bump the size of the head of a tac probably. I got some hemorrhoid cream and started using it as recommended. I've been using it for a little over a week now and nothing's changed. I've previously had a polyp removed from the lower part of my colon, so I guess I kind of have a history of polyps, just not in that very area. Could this possibly be more serious than a hemorrhoid? Just thought I'd embarrass myself on yahoo answers before embarrassing myself in person at the doctors office I'm 20 years old.
