Do people have different personalities after schizophrenia treatment ?
I believe I have undifferentiated schizophrenia. I am seeking help and I want to know how much will my personality change.I mean is there a significant effect on the way in which they interact with other people and how others communicate. Are they better at socializing and expressing themselves.
Any new develpoments on schizophrenia treatment ?
My 26 year old son has schizophrenia, and was diagnoised at the age of 19. since then he has been on many medications. some were too mild, others worked for a while , then were not as effective, anyone know of new treatment that we may try ? we have tried risperadal, zyprexia, geaodn, etc. he now gets a shot with prolixin, and takes by mouth, cloziril. it is somewhat effective, but leaves him too doped up to funtion.I have heard that abilify is not sedating and does not add weight gain.my questions is does anyone know of any other treatment that may be new , or of a good reference site for new information ?

Full story below.My Brother is getting worse but my successful efforts to get him to see a doctor is going nowhere as he and his partner believe he was really abused she leaves him alone to look after two small kids and its not a mental illness hes got, even 2 doctors are letting him believe that what can I do now?One doc says Post traumatic stress another says Psychosis and a third wants to see him for 3 weeks till he makes his diagnosis. My Bother and his Partner have decided its post traumatic stress and he is going back to work driving a 48 ton truck for 60 hours a week till all of this is sorted out?My Brother has just informed all 6 family members that he was sexually abused by work colleagues over 20 years ago but has only recently remembered what happened as he stopped drinking beer.What is hard to believe about what he says is that the abuse happened at 3 different companies he worked for, on holiday in Devon, in the territorial army barracks where he was a Private, at my sisters ex husbands local pub, at another pub many miles away where work colleagues used to go, at a local slaughterhouse too, all this on many occasions and he says he was lured to trap others, including family . All these Occurrences are interlinked through one person knowing of someone in the other Occurrences and there is a gang of men kidnapping people and gang raping them and murdering some tooHe says he was given a drug that erased all his memory thats why he didn't remember then at the time. He also says it happened to His brother and also to his sister but they totally deny it and say he is crazy to believe such nonsense. He won't speak to them now unless they admit what he says. He is always worried that people are out to get him or members of his family, a recent development His story gets longer and longer more being added on every month.Another worrying factor is he said he was waiting for his parents to die then he would get all of the people responsible and then kill himself in his big 48 ton truck and has no concern for his 2 kids or wife. He is so convinced that he is arranging to go to police with his allegations to see if the people have any previous convictions of Abusing people. He also flipped recently when his Psychiatrist was off ill for his first appointment and this resulted in child protection visiting his wife and kids to check on them as he said he was going to kill all of his family too.. So any Ideas as to his condition will be appreciated. He is 43 yrs old and has never taken drugs only cigarettes and beer. His partner seems to believe him and that it really happened and he is not mentally ill?.35 minutes ago 4 days left to answer.

I was really looking for genreal answers or what you really know about all treatments for schizoid.Since few ppl ask, I recently found out that my sister has schizophrenia. She does the paranoid talk that drive the house crazy with her. It is very stressful to hear all the stuff she says and very off topic. We don t know where to start and where to find help. We live in a very small town in Brazil and no help has been found. My siuster is very young, I hope to find assistance and treatment before it is too late. I do look for affordable treatments...What kind of details I should give? I barely know about this mental state.
Schizophrenia treatment?
I am from Pune. Here a psychometric testing has diagnosed me with schizophrenia and thought disorder and accordinly a psychiatrist has given me medicines. But before taking medicines a want to take a second opinion. Can anybody refer me the best hospitals in India from where I can get the second opinion. It is very important as I do not want to take the wrong medicines.
